    How to remove and install a front steering knuckle and strut assembly on Honda Ridgeline? Posted by Customer
    A:
    Loosen axle/hub nut and wheel lug nuts. Raise vehicle and remove wheel. Remove brake disc, ABS sensor, and brake hose. Loosen strut-to-knuckle fasteners and separate tie-rod end. Remove ball joint lock pin and separate from knuckle. Remove strut-to-knuckle fasteners and axle/hub nut. Push axle from hub and separate knuckle from strut. INSTALLATION: Position knuckle and hub assembly, insert axle into hub. Connect ball joint to knuckle and attach tie-rod. Tighten strut fasteners, ball joint nut, and tie-rod nut. Install new cotter and lock pins. Install brake disc and caliper. Install new axle/hub nut and wheel. Lower vehicle and tighten lug nuts. Tighten axle/hub nut. Check and adjust front wheel alignment if needed.

    When using the ball joint separating tool on the upper arm, be careful not to tear the ball joint grease seal. Apply grease to the portion of the tool that contacts the ball joint grease seal and to the threads of the bolt on the tool.
