    Q:
How to remove and install a Throttle Body,Idle Control Valve,Throttle Position Sensor and Fuel Injectors on Honda Passport? Posted by Customer
    A:
The throttle body assembly can still stay bolted to the intake manifold for those who need just component replacement but since the following procedures will be easier with the assembly off the car, it is removed here. First, release fuel pressure from the system by following the procedure discussed for releasing to a level that is below 20 psi, then unbend the negative terminal of the battery and finally unbolt and remove the air cleaner housing assembly, its adapter and gaskets. Fuel pressure regulator is located in the fuel meter cover and in the case of replacement of either unit both have to be replaced. Disconnect the electrical connectors to the fuel injectors, and remove the screws on the fuel meter housing; and the gasket and seal-be sure to remove any old gasket material. Check for dirt and warping of the cover and replace the seals and gaskets after which use Loctite on the screws that hold the fuel meter cover. Carry on reconnecting the electrical connectors and the negative battery cable while inspecting for 'leaks with the ignition on for some time. When replacing fuel injectors pay attention to the original part number, disconnect the connectors, and remove the injectors while saving on gasket. Check the filters for contamination and if needed change them with new ones, make sure to lubricate the O-rings before fitting them. The TPS should not be cleaned with solvents and should be installed back after removal while in the case of IAC valve, a new valve should be installed with paying attention to the size of the pintle. The fuel meter body assembly is reused with new gaskets and once again the fuel injectors can be removed and a new set of gaskets and O-rings can be fitted after cleaning the throttle body assembly. With regard to electrical systems, make certain that all electrical connectors are mated securely, check accelerator pedal functionality, and look for leaks before completion of the air cleaner housing assembly and its affiliates.
