- A:Have the refrigerant discharged and recovered by an air conditioning technician. Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal. Remove the condenser. Remove the cap from the condenser. Remove the filter from the condenser. Use pliers to remove the A/C Accumulator desiccant from the condenser. Installation is the reverse of removal. Be sure to install new O-rings onto the A/C Accumulator cap. Apply a thin layer of refrigerant oil to the O-rings before installing them. Reconnect the battery.
