Remove the intake air ducts and air filter housing. On models so equipped, remove the hydraulic line bracket mounting bolt and bracket. Use a flare nut wrench to disconnect the hydraulic line from the clutch slave cylinder. Have a small can and rags handy - some fluid will be spilled as the line is removed. Plug the line to prevent excessive fluid loss. Remove the cylinder mounting bolts and remove the cylinder. Install the hydraulic line to the clutch slave cylinder. Use a second wrench to hold the connection fitting and tighten the flare nut. Lightly lubricate the clutch slave cylinder pushrod and the release fork pocket with high temperature grease. Install but do not tighten the clutch slave cylinder onto the clutch housing. Make sure the pushrod is seated in the release fork pocket, then tighten the mounting bolts to the torque. The remainder of installation is the reverse of removal, noting the following points; Fill the clutch master cylinder with brake fluid conforming to DOT 3 specifications. Bleed the system.

Brake fluid will damage paint, so use care not to spill it on painted surfaces. Begin by removing the battery and battery tray, followed by the air filter housing. Next, remove the two bolts and detach the clutch slave cylinder from the transaxle, ensuring to also remove the bolt securing the clutch line bracket to the vehicle on 2009 and later models. Use a flare-nut wrench to disconnect the clutch line from the clutch slave cylinder while holding the clutch line connector with another wrench. For 2008 and earlier models, if the clutch line connector was removed, install a new O-ring. The clutch line connector can be detached from the cylinder body by driving out the two roll pins with a small punch. Installation is the reverse of removal. Finally, fill the clutch master cylinder reservoir with brake fluid that conforms to DOT 3 specifications and bleed the clutch hydraulic system.
