Engine mounts usually are trouble-free in their function, but if they are broken or have worn beyond their capability, they should be replaced to avoid damaging the drivelines. During the check, the engine is lifted slightly off the mounts to provide more weight to be lifted by the mounts. Start by lifting the car up using jackstands and setting a hydraulic jack underneath the engine oil pan, inserting a big wooden beam between the head of the jack and the oil pan lifting the engine slightly off the mounts. Examine the mount insulators for cracking, hardening or delamination from the metal center and test the movement of the mount plates with Engine or frame using Large screwdriver prybar. If there is any movement check the engine and perhaps lower it and tighten the mount fasteners. To remove the mounts, remove the cable from the negative terminal of the battery, if the car is not already hoisted, then raise the car and set jackstands if available and also support the engine as mentioned earlier. Unauthorized it's necessary to turn the fasteners counter clockwise, lift the engine and the carburetor with the help of the CR8819 jack, and to dismantle the mount between the frame bracket and the engine.
