A 6mm x 300mm rod will be needed for upper control arm installation. Begin by loosening the front wheel lug nuts, raising the vehicle, placing it securely on jackstands and removing the wheel. Support the lower control arm with a floor jack. Next, remove the shock absorber/coil spring assembly. Remove the ABS wheel speed sensor bracket from the upper control arm. Remove the cotter pin, then loosen, but do not remove, the castle nut from the upper balljoint stud. The nut will prevent the upper control arm and the steering knuckle from separating violently in the next step. Separate the upper control arm from the steering knuckle with a two-jaw puller, then remove the nut. Don't let the top of the steering knuckle fall outward. If necessary, secure it with a piece of wire. Remove the upper control arm pivot bolts and the upper control arm. Installation is the reverse of removal, noting the following points: Fabricate a tool (6mm x 300mm rod) and place it in the holes provided in the frame to position the upper control arm. With the tool in place, install the control arm pivot bolts and tighten them. Be sure to tighten all other fasteners securely. Install a new cotter pin.

Install a new cotter pin and tighten the wheel lug nuts.
