When installing components, use new self-locking nuts and tighten fasteners lightly. Load the suspension with the vehicle's weight and torque the fasteners to specification. Loosen the rear wheel lug nuts, raise the vehicle, and remove the wheel. Disconnect the upper arm balljoint from the knuckle, remove the brake hose bracket bolts, and remove the pivot bolt. Inspect the bushing and balljoint for wear. If worn, replace the arm. Installation is the reverse of removal. Tighten all fasteners after raising the rear knuckle. Remove the nut and bolt that attaches the lower arm to the knuckle and inspect the lower arm bushings. If worn, replace the arm. Disconnect the parking brake cable bracket from the trailing arm and remove the bolt that attaches the trailing arm to the knuckle. Inspect the bushing at the forward end of the arm.
